When you go to this link, Microsoft will ask you to verify your identity and then give notification of 60 days period for the deletion of the account.

Getting Back Your Account

In case, if you change your mind about deleting the Microsoft account, and want it back before the 60 days period ends, then all you need to do is log in to your account, and the whole deletion process will be canceled.
