How to Take Microsoft Teams Backup?

Kernel Microsoft Teams Migration assists you in taking the backup of Microsoft Teams data in the File category. Steps to Backup Microsoft Teams Data

  1. First, you must connect to the Team by adding the Team Site as Source in Kernel Microsoft Teams Migration. For that, open the Teams app in the Office 365 portal. connect to the Team by adding the Team Site as Source
  2. From the list of Teams, choose the Team whose backup is required. Go to the Files category and click on Copy link. click on Copy link
  3. Copy the link and open this link in the web browser. It will open Teams as a SharePoint site. For example - https://domain.sharepoint.com/site/team; copy the URL. You can copy the same site URL from the SharePoint Admin Center > Active Site. Copy the link and open in the web browser
  4. Now, open the tool, right-click SharePoint (On-Premises/Online), and choose to Add New SharePoint Site. open Kernel Migrator for SharePoint
  5. Input a new Project Name, the site address of the Team you copied in the previous step, the username (Team admin or site admin account), and password. Click OK. Add login and password
  6. After verifying the account details, the tool will connect the Team site as the source. It will confirm if you want to connect the site as a destination. Click No. connect the site as a destination
  7. When the Team has been connected as a Project, you can expand its folders to check its details and choose the items for backup. Right-click on a folder and click Download a copy. click Download a copy
  8. Choose the destination folder to save items there. You can also apply the filters (date filter, file filter, versioning, etc.) to the Teams data. Click OK. Choose the destination folder
  9. The items are downloaded successfully, showing the status of each item. Click the Open Location button to go to the backup folder location directly. Finally, click Close. Items are downloaded successfully
