You can migrate all of your mailbox content (all folders/ items) and public folders from the source platform to Office 365 environment with ease.
To move your Public Folders to Office 365, the destination mailbox must contain a Public Folder for the migration. If not, then you’ve to first create an empty Public Folder tree, and then create a public folder.
Steps to create a Public Folder in Office 365 environment.
  • Log in your Office 365 administration panel, using Office 365 global administrator account and select Exchange section.
  • Select public folders mailboxe tab.
  • Select the Plus (+) icon to add a new mailbox.
  • When public folder window pops-up, then configure the mailbox settings according to your preference. Click Save to save the settings.
  • Go again to Public Folders tab, and click three dots (…) icon.
  • Select Plus (+) icon and click Root Permissions.
  • Browse the user mailbox and assign the relevant permissions. Check mark the boxes to grant privileges to the user mailbox.
  • Click Close to save the changes, and close the Office 365 administration panel.
