Use the following order to perform cross forest migration:

  1. Use “Pre-Migration” function to evaluate the overall time and agents required to finish the migration. (Optional)
  2. Use “Agent Configuration” to add the agents for sharing the migration load.
  3. Use “Mailbox Configuration” function to migrate the properties, limits, and permissions of mailboxes.
  4. Use “GAL Synchronization” to update the Global Address List from source to destination. (Optional)
  5. Then, add a Project.
  6. Now add a Mailbox Migration Job in the Project to migrate user mailboxes.
  7. Add a Public Folder Migration Job to migrate Public Folders
  8. Then schedule the migration job
  9. Use “Outlook Rules and Permissions” to Outlook rules and permissions from Source to Destination.
  10. Use “Profile Manager” to modify the Outlook profiles (Optional)
