Should you encounter any difficulties, such as accessing a shared folder, sharing a folder on the network, or connecting to the Internet, follow these steps to automatically rectify the issue:

  1. Click Start > Control Panel. The Control Panel window appears.
  2. Double-click the Troubleshooting option.
  3. Double-click the Network and Internet option. The Network and Internet Troubleshooting window appears where following options are provided for you to fix the Network and Internet related issues:
    • Internet Connections:Assists in resolving internet-related problems, such as having an enabled internet connection on your system but being unable to access websites.
    • Shared Folders: This feature assists in resolving problems associated with sharing folders over a network. It should be employed when encountering difficulties in sharing a folder or when accessing a shared folder proves challenging.
    • HomeGroup: Assists in resolving network group-related issues. This option is recommended when you encounter difficulties in accessing shared folders and computers within your HomeGroup.
    • Network Adapter:This option assists in resolving wireless networking issues, particularly when encountering problems such as Windows being unable to detect or configure the network adapter. Choose this option if you are facing any such difficulties.
    • Incoming Connections: Assists in resolving network issues where other users face difficulty establishing a connection with your computer system or encounter problems accessing shared files or folders.
    • Connection to a Workplace Using Direct Access: Assists in resolving any issues encountered while attempting to establish connections within enterprise network domains.

  4. To automatically resolve the issue, simply double-click the relevant option. For instance, if Windows 7 is experiencing difficulty detecting network adapters, double-click the “Network Adapter” option.
